101 Herbs with Stories & Essays by Marcia Neely101 Herbs with Stories & Essays by Marcia NeelyOUT OF STOCK

This is a wonderful book that talks about the 101 herbs that grow on Marcia's farm in West Central Minnesota. Included are stories, information on the uses of the herbs and their preparation. She is an herbalist who studied with Matthew Wood.

(now from the bookback) Marcia Neely worked as a public health nurse during her younger to middle adult years. In 1993, she and her husband, John, who had been a newpaper publisher, moved to the country near Benson, Minnesota. Moving down the ladder of success as defined by society, they discovered a love for a more organic life, informed by their natural surroundings.

Marcia has been growing and learning about herbs since her move to the country. She grows herbs and vegetables using a sustainable approach, produces hand-made soaps, and makes beeswax candles from the wax created by the honey bees her husband keeps.

Marcia and John continue to live near Benson with their three miniature dashshunds and two cats, where Marcia operates a small country store called "Honey and Herbs."

Doug Peterson is a gardener, woodworker, and artist who lives near Watson, Minnesota.
